A real alternative to ski wax – discover GigaGlide

The topic of sustainability and environmental awareness has now also arrived in professional skiing. A ban on fluorowax at all FIS and IBU races is already in the timeline. Even outside of professional skiing, the question arises as to whether there is a good and environmentally friendly alternative to classic ski wax.

An Austrian start-up company offers an answer: GigaGlide. GigaGlide products are biodegradable, perfluorocarbon free and water based. Due to the dirt and water-repellent properties, GigaGlide even offers longer durability compared to conventional ski wax. A ski coated with GigaGlide absorbs significantly fewer dirt particles and therefore retains its gliding ability longer. In addition, GigaGlide works universally for all temperature ranges and even on icy surfaces. Tests by the Snow, Ski and Alpine Sports Research Center FS²A in Innsbruck have proven this.

The right GigaGlide for every application

The environmentally friendly direct gliding fluid is available in different versions - to be ordered in the service workshop or as a practical small bottle directly for the winter sports enthusiast. With the product range, GigaGlide covers a wide variety of target groups: GigaGlide Pro for classic skis or boards, GigaGlide Tour especially for tourers and now also GigaGlide Cross-Country for cross-country skiing and skating. The application is extremely easy and quick: the bottles have a practical sponge attachment with which the liquid can be easily distributed on the ski. After only 10 minutes the ski is ready for a day on the slopes. Dried overnight, GigaGlide lasts up to 7 days on the slopes.

Practical application device for service workshops

Reichmann has developed a practical application device, the Glide Master, for quick and easy use in the service workshop. With the Glide Master, the ski wax alternative can be effortlessly applied to the ski base within seconds. The two rollers attached one behind the other distribute the GigaGlide optimally on the ski base and wipe off excess liquid. So just the right amount of GigaGlide stays on the base. Compared to the classic wax machine, the Glide Master offers significantly more flexibility and comfort. No power connection is required, heating up and subsequent brushing is no longer necessary. In addition, there are no fumes, dust or heat, making work safer, cleaner and healthier.
